After a lengthy tender process the Government of Western Australia has selected Contact 121 and Knowledge Powered Solutions (KPS), Universal Knowledge Suit to become the Knowledge Management System for the Department of Transport’s (DoT).
The Department of Transport in Perth Australia is responsible for administering the Road Traffic Act and manages a large range of driver and vehicle licensing functions in Western Australia. Within the Department of Transport, Driver and Vehicle Services (DVS) is responsible for the provision of consistent policy and advice to 1.8 million customers and administers around 40 Acts and associated regulations.

Chris Price, Manager Knowledge Management, DoT, DVS explains ‘DoT required easy and fast access to relevant, current and compliant information to ensure effective transaction execution. A Knowledge Management System was required to give DoT, its agents and general public easy access to Driver and Vehicle Licensing information.
The KMS is scheduled to go live in Q3 2013 and the key benefits envisaged are:
